The choice to bring new people into your business is a big one as it results in your team shifting to accommodate new skills and personalities. 1: Communicating your employer brand is important
In a modern world where living publicly is the new normal, brands are exposed like never before. How you choose to present and communicate your company across consumer-facing outlets is increasingly important as consumers and potential employees strive to understand what you stand for and why you do what you do. Your website, social media presence, blog, logo, and even your company vision are all under scrutiny by potential candidates, so take time to ensure that your communication is clear, consistent and attracting the right people for you.

Beyond this, choosing where and how you advertise new jobs is crucial to finding the best talent. Different job boards attract different audiences, and use different approaches in advertising their roles. Pick one that suits your business, and design your job adverts and specifications in ways that bring in the correct candidates.

2: Communicating with recruiters and candidates is vital
The way you manage the recruitment process is instrumental to securing a top person. Being clear, prompt and transparent is vital. One of the biggest frustrations of candidates is not hearing back – be that on an application, an interview, or even hearing back on a start date or contract once a role has been offered. Don’t underestimate how detrimental this can be. These situations lead to candidates pulling out of the process and bringing about an unwanted reputation in the industry.
