About the role
You will provide thought leadership in state-of-the-art machine learning techniques and design and establish the company's data science practice, helping to steer product feature development
and prioritization. You will lead, manage, and grow a multi-disciplinary team of machine learning, data, and MLOps, engineers and managers. In addition to will bring production-grade AI/ML solutions to market, leveraging industry benchmark best practices and collaborate to ensure AI technology roadmap is aligned with the strategic vision of VP ofEngineering and VP of Product. You will foster user empathy amongst teams to uncover disruptive AI innovation and define innovation goals, such as patent filings, for the team. You will champion experimentation with new models and techniques while overseeing data mining and collection procedures. In addition you will ensure data quality and integrity; uphold ethics and fairness of AI.

About your background and skills
You need to have a master level degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics or similar field
as well as have significant experience as a director of engineering (or similar) leading and growing
high-performing engineering teams and managing managers. You will need to have demonstrated experience in applied AI/ML in at least two of the following areas Computer Vision, Audio Processing, Mixed Reality, Data Analytics, Affective Computing. You will have extensive experience in at least one cloud platform (ex. AWS) and associated machine learning services (ex. Amazon SageMaker) and have excellent knowledge across Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Numpy, Matplotlib, Seaborn, etc.
You can prove your success in bringing a product to market with AI capabilities and demonstrate the ability to clearly explain and discuss machine learning concepts with colleagues and business leaders of varied levels and backgrounds. The company would like your presence in the office to match that of how the team currently works, so a minimum of 2/3 days office based work per week.
